Well the 8 plus has a telephoto lens, way better portrait mode and portrait lighting,4k 60fps, 1080p 240fps so I think Google need to stfu as it brought nothing new to 2017! It was just a shitty upgrade

Except, if you annually upgrade I'm guessing you will always have free storage. Google gives awesome trade-in value to their Pixel Phones. I got an estimate of $410 for my Pixel XL…that makes it well worth an annual upgrade.

"We don't set aside better features for the larger device"
And yet you chose the better hardware design for the 2XL…

    1. iPhone 8 also has continuous auto HDR now
    2. iPhone 8 has optical stabilization and It's flawless. iPhone X has 2 cameras in the back and both have OIS thus can take better Zoomed videos and photos.
    3. Google portrait mode is just a rip off from Apple (even the name) and it's only a software processing thing. It's a gimmick rather than a real depth sensing via two Cameras like iPhone 8 PLUS and even 7 Plus. I'm sure this wouldn't be even as close as the iPhone portrait mode which is phenomenal. BTW this was present even in the Galaxy S5 in 2014.
    4. Both phones have that software gimmick, yes that's true.
    5. Unlimited CLOUD storage, not local storage. Cloud storage is very limited by many factors such as a wifi connection, data connection, security/privacy, only works for photos and videos (Not for songs or movies) and also for inferior quality not original best quality.
    6. Google lens is not a Camera feature but a separate option which uses the Cameras. iPhone also has similar Apps in App store than can do the same thing.
    7. AR features are better implemented on iPhone 8 and X than the Pixel 2.

So iPhone is still the better phone and it looks CNET is promoting inferior products like Pixel 2/ 2 XL for money.

Google in 2016: apple removed the headphone jack? Screw them in android it’s here to stay
Google in 2017: apple has dual cameras for portrait effect HA we don’t even need a second camera for that and plus we don’t set aside better features for the larger model (even though the xl has a better design) but where’s the headp… shhhh we don’t talk about that.
Google in 2018: this is the best dual camera on any smartphone on the xl and dxo mark rates it at 101 and…………. idk maybe it has wireless charging and 4k 60fps as catch up features again but why just the xl… shhh stop

There are several new phones that Dxomark hasn't even tested, so it's an empty claim. If it's software then simply update phone's software. Resize what?! Also, everyone using Google Photo gets unlimited 16 MP photos and unlimited 1080p video. LOL the Pixel 2, Note 8, LG V30 and the vast majority have 16 MP and less resolutions!
